Hi Boys and Girls & welcome to my blog!

I'll try to update it as often as I can, but things can get a bit hectic here in December - I wonder why that is!!

24th December 2010

Well boys and girls, in a few hours Santa will be loading up his sleigh and we'll be heading off on our journey around the world.  The elves have finished making all your toys, my team of reindeer are raring to go and Santa is just finishing drawing up his schedule.  This year we are heading to Scotland first and will be dropping off presents to Thomas and Grace Wiggins on Islay just after midnight before heading over to mainland Europe.  I'm looking forward to landing the sleigh in Latina, where Santa has lots of lovely presents to leave for Hannah and Rhys Wiggins who Santa says have been a very good girl and boy all year long!!!  He might even have a present for Michael too, as he tells me he is visiting Italy from the US!  I do hope they remember to leave Santa and I a snack and a drink - I'm sure Hannah will remember though - she's such a thoughtful little girl!!

Well I really better go now and put some more anti-slip oil on my hooves as it will be VERY icy out there tonight!!  Make sure you're all tucked up in your beds nice and early and Santa and I will see you VERY VERY soon - I'm SO excited, I'll bet you are too!!

Happy Christmas!!

Lots of love

Rudolph

3rd December 2010
Just time for a quick word as I'm rushed off my hooves today!!  Santa's not feeling too well this morning and thinks he might be coming down with a cold.  Mrs Claus has sent him to bed with a hot water bottle and a hot toddy, so this means that I've been given a very special job to do today.......Santa has asked me to read some of your letters and get the orders over to Ed at the Workshop.  I didn't realise just how tiring reading can be.....it's only 11.30 am and already I've placed 10,201 orders!!!  I really hope Santa is better tomorrow ... I can feel a migraine coming on and I've still got to organise visit to the Chiropdist tonight to get our hooves trimmed....the stress of it all is giving me another chocolate craving...but I must resist as I've gone down two holes on my harness straps this week!!!

26th November 2010

Hello again!
Only four weeks to go, and things are really hotting up here (not the weather mind you - it was -35 degrees here last night. BRGHHHH....very chilly!!  I got an email from my cousin Hamish, a reindeer who lives in Scotland & he was complaining that it was -15 over there. I don't know what he's moaning about - compared to the North Pole, that's positively tropical!!!
Anyway, as I was saying, it's getting VERY busy here.  Santa's workshop is a hive of activity now as your letters to Santa have started arriving.  Ed and the elves were working 12 hour shifts this week and from tomorrow onwards,  Santa wants them to be available 24 hours a day.  He does allow them to have 15 minute tea breaks and ten 20 minute power naps per day, so it's not that bad.....but I must say,I'm glad I'm a reindeer and not a Workshop elf!!!
Remember I told you that we were getting a health check ... well, Kris Massey our vet came over yesterday and thankfully we've all been given a clean bill of health.  Blitzen was a bit worried as she's been suffering from a frozen
shoulder (given the weather just now, that's quite ironic!) but the vet strapped it up well and it shouldn't be a problem.  Unfortunately Santa had told him about my recent weight problems (although he's got a cheek to talk, hasn't he!) and I'm now on a strict diet, so no more chocolate and crisps for the next 4 weeks - nothing but carrots, skimmed milk and reduced calorie oats for me...... oh well, I daresay I'll survive, but last night I was dreaming that my nosebag was filled with mini mars bars!!!
Well folks, I'd better go now, as we've got training in an hour....a fifteen mile uphill trek with weights on our backpacks, can't wait!.......
Talk to you again soon!

19th November 2010

Today Santa called his first meeting of the Christmas season.
Myself and Dancer were there representing the Reindeer and the Workshop representatives were Head Elf Fred and his production manager Charlie.  Santa likes to have us well organised in the run-up to December.  The Elves were told to make sure all their toymaking equipment is working properly after being left unused for so long and to begin placing orders for materials.  Santa told Dancer and I that he had arranged for our Vetinerary Elf, Dr Kris Massey to give all the reindeer team a full health check on Friday.  It is very important that we are in tip-top condition for Christmas Eve, as one unfit reindeer could put the whole of Christmas in jeopardy.  I'll post another blog then and I'll let you know how we got on.
Anyway, I'd better go now as I've to go and get my sleigh harness adjusted............I'm afraid I put a little weight on during my summer break!!!
